Music Showcase
The Plenty Campus Music Showcase was a huge success and a joyous occasion for all involved. Held over two nights, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 April, it was an opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the performing arts. Head of Performing Arts at Plenty Campus and Producer of the show, Mark Lauber was delighted with how well the show went. ‘To the cast, musicians, and crew of the 2021 music showcase, well done on a remarkable achievement and an excellent run of shows! The success of this production was based on the hard work, skill and effort of a team that has grown and developed over recent years. I cannot remember working so happily and being so connected with such a large group of staff, students, and parents, and I think that this spirit definitely made its way on to the stage. Everyone keeps saying how happy they felt after watching it and I think the reason is, of course, the vibrant Ivanhoe family.’
The gym was transformed into an incredible performing arts space with help from Immersion AV and Light & Sounds Solutions. The ensemble was made up of 52 students who performed 12 musical numbers over two acts. They were supported by an orchestra and very capable student crew. The Friends of Plenty Performing Arts and Friends of Plenty Campus also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the production. Productions such as this not only allow students to hone their talents and perform on stage, but they also foster friendships across year levels, building confidence and character. We are really pleased to be able to share with you some student reflections.
‘It was so special for me to perform our first high school musical. I have created so many special memories and new friendships. I just wanted to thank all the teachers…! You guys created this amazing show so thank you very much! Backstage Crew, I wanted to thank you guys too because we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you! I can’t wait until next year so Let’s do the Time Warp again in 2022!’

Thank you to all the teachers and staff who have been so supportive to the cast and crew throughout this experience.
