Kayak Championships
Well done to the School’s Kayak Team who competed at the recent Victorian Slalom Championships taking out the Best Team title.
This event is usually titled the National Championships but was altered at the last minute due to COVID-19 restrictions. Even though the event was changed it was a wonderful opportunity to compete at high level and catch up with friends after a year of absence.
Performing on the Victorian Slalom Course on the Goulburn River after such a long break proved a challenge but our students showed great resilience and talent. Notable performers were Ben Ross and Kate Moorhen for winning both the junior and senior best paddler and fastest times awards.
Many thanks to staff Mr Hogg, Mr Gibbs, Mr Draper and all the students who made the effort to support the School and to our parents’ group KPSG who catered for the event.
We wish Ben Little, Seb Montalto, Kate Moorhen and Ben Ross the best in their upcoming selection races for the National Team, hoping to travel to Europe later this year.
Year 7 and 8 Family Kayak Camp 19-21 March 2021
A reminder that our Whitewater camp is coming up soon. All families are welcome to attend. This is a unique experience which provides our school families with the opportunity to relax and get to know other members of our community, while their children experience the wonder of the rapids of the Goulburn River, Eildon under the watchful eye of staff and coaches. A letter will be sent out through Ivanhoe Connect.
