National Reconciliation Week
We are delighted to be able to launch our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan during National Reconciliation Week.
Earlier in the year, our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was approved by the Narragunnawali organisation. This new framework recognises Ivanhoe Grammar School’s commitment to working toward reconciliation in our community and signals the intention of the School to engage in recognising inequities.
Ivanhoe Grammar School’s vision is for an inclusive inter-cultural relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians based on common respect and recognition of the enduring value of First Peoples’ knowledge and cultures.

This year, National Reconciliation Week’s theme is In this together and this theme shows how ‘this unity of purpose creates a shared sense of belonging and identity; and this identity must value and include the histories, cultures and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.’ (NRW) It is important for all Australians to acknowledge and recognise the importance of this week as a nation.
We have extended our Reconciliation week celebrations until Friday 12 June to take advantage of all of our students being back at school. During this time all of our students will take part in reconciliation activities both within class time and through whole school events.
