Tennis continues its Winning Streak

As the Boys’ AGSV summer season goes into recess for two months, it was great to see the Tennis team continue their unbeaten run against Assumption College. With five wins to their credit, the Boys sit firmly on top of the ladder. Eleven boys have represented the Firsts so far this season and with many of the boys coming from the younger year levels, it bodes well for the future.

Led by Captain and Year 12 student Jake Marin, the boys who have played in the Firsts so far this season include: Alban Aslani, Dion Gavalas, Thomas McGillion, John Nassour, Luke Scuderi, Tom Horne-Okano, Kris Murhi, Lincoln Zhang, Connor Di Marco and James Anderson.

The Cricket team continued their winning streak with a convincing win against Assumption College. Chasing 172 for victory, the top order led the way with Mitch Barnewall (51) and Daniel Stanford (67 not out) being the standout performers

Our Basketball team and Badminton boys also recorded good wins. In Basketball, the team won by 14 points and our Badminton boys also performed extremely well.

The Table Tennis and Volleyball teams also performed admirably on the day.

In Girls’ sport, the Softball team scrambled to a one run victory against Carey Grammar; unfortunately the Tennis girls and the Volleyball girls lost to Caulfield Grammar and Carey Grammar respectively.

Whilst girls Softball and Tennis will play one more game on Saturday 29 November, all other sport (including year level sport) will resume on Saturday 7 February 2015.
