Star Siblings win Bronze

Year 11 student Lachlan represented the U16 side and Year 6 student Brigid was in the U12 side, battling it out against the Australian states and territories.

Lachlan has been playing competitive Hockey since the age of 12 and has represented Victoria every year since as well as representing Ivanhoe Grammar School in the AGSV team. This year has been Brigid’s third season playing hockey, however she has grown up watching her brother play and is now following in his footsteps.

The duo both play in the Yarra Valley Hockey Club and trained twice a week in the lead up to the competition.

Brigid will now trial for the Hockey Victoria Academy, which provides elite training from October to January and despite an ankle injury Lachlan hopes to play in the Men’s Reserves Grand Final.

“This is a fantastic result for these siblings, it’s great to see a sporting tradition being held in the family and training hard to achieve their goals,” said Director of Sport, Neil Buszard.
