Sports Report

30 May 2017

Last Saturday, our netball girls got their season back on track with a terrific win against an undefeated Wesley College. Playing with their full squad for the first time this season, and led superbly by captain Georgia Harper, the girls won 44-36.

Our soccer girls made the long trek to Geelong College worthwhile with a good win, 3-0. Betti Michael was terrific in front of goals scoring twice, whilst Emma Sands also guided one into the back of the net.

Closer to home (Chelsworth Park in fact), our boys’ soccer team had a comfortable win against a depleted Peninsula School, winning 12-1. Tilmann Stewart continued his good form scoring 4 goals, whilst Zach Nanos (3 goals), George Nanos (2), Billy Skliros (2) and Andrew Simonovski (1) also did well in front of goals.

In boys’ hockey and boys’ football, both teams had to settle for draws against Trinity. Both Jonah and Tom Meadon were dominant players in hockey, whilst Patrick Naish (4 goals) was easily the best player on the field in football.

And although our hockey girls went down by one goal against Geelong College, they still put in their best effort, especially coming off some heavy defeats recently. The girls played with fantastic intensity and should be congratulated for their effort. Alessia Travaglini was our sole goal scorer, whilst Laura Tolan and Brigid Watson were solid contributors. Well done girls!

Well done and good luck for this Saturday.
