Odyssey and Butterfly Effect program

The Odyssey Program is an in-school program developed for adolescent boys that aims to provide them with skills to help navigate their way through this tumultuous time of their lives. Many workshops were undertaken throughout the day which included sessions on Identity and Masculinity, Emotions and Feelings, Decision making, Sexuality and Relationships. The Odyssey Program aims to help boys develop their self-knowledge and self-esteem as well as their higher order skills.

The Butterfly Effect is a program that encourages girls to be discerning consumers, critical thinkers and to find their own voice and feel powerful in a complex world. Where ever they look girls are bombarded by advice about what to eat, how to act, how to look, how to please and how to be liked. Magazines, television, movies and websites all dispense information and ‘advice’ to our often vulnerable and impressionable young girls. A number of workshops were undertaken throughout the day designed to celebrate all the things that our girls love about themselves, while also challenging them to rethink negative and destructive behaviours.
