New Zealand Netball Tour

During the school holidays, our Netball Team had the great privilege of taking their skills to New Zealand.

After a rocky start to the trip (the plane was delayed by 7 hours!), the team spent ten days in New Zealand. Taking advantage of the different school holiday schedules, the girls were able to attend classes at some of their host schools and played many challenging games against highly competitive teams including Kristin School, North Harbour Netball Academy, Westlake Girls, St. Kentigerns, Howick College and Kings College.

It wasn’t all netball, though. The group managed to squeeze in many beautiful sights around Takapuna and Devonport and even visited Hobbiton; the Lord of the Rings film location. A trip to the Waitomo Gloworm Caves was threatened by tail end of Cyclone Debbie but very fortunately, the waters subsided so they were able to witness what teacher Wendy Wilkinson described as a ‘colourful Milky Way of gloworm lights’.

They were welcomed warmly by host schools and families which made for a magical international experience.
