Ivanhoe Fundraising for Cambodia

A key component of the School’s commitment to Round Square is the work in Cambodia. In 2014, as a result of various fundraising initiatives, Ivanhoe Grammar School raised over $11,000 to assist a number of schools in Cambodia.

In addition to considerable funds contributing to the teacher training project, mentor teacher training workshops and materials, money was also utilised to purchase the following:

Demonstration Primary school

Whiteboards, metal stools for students in the classrooms, fixing the leaking roof of five classrooms, one set of swings and a merry go round.

Krapeuha Primary school

Whiteboards, metal stools for classrooms, plastic chairs for classrooms, fixing the leaking roof of classrooms, two sets of swings and paint for the swings.

Kampong Samnagn Primary school

Prek Tapov Primary school

As a member of the Round Square group of schools, Ivanhoe shares the vision of taking education far beyond the academic to personal development and responsibility. The pillars or IDEALS of the network are Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service and these IDEALS are embedded in every area of school life at Ivanhoe.

The generous donations and support last year will again make a considerable difference for teachers and students at these schools. Congratulations to the Ivanhoe community for such a fantastic fundraising effort in 2014!
