Honours Assembly

On Wednesday 11 February the School welcomed students from the Class of 2014 to the Honours Assembly, which is held to celebrate their results and achievements.

Sarah Webster was announced as the first female Dux of The Ridgeway Campus, achieving an ATAR of 99.85 and formally presented with a VCE General Excellence Award.

Since joining Ivanhoe Grammar School, Sarah performed to a very high standard across all subject areas and received a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, demonstrating dedication and commitment to her studies. Sarah is a gifted musician, was Captain of Music at the School and she received a variety of Academic Achievement Awards. She embraced all aspects of life throughout her time at Ivanhoe and complemented her academic endeavours with pursuits in Basketball, Volleyball, Kayaking and Cadets. Sarah was amongst the first group of students to receive the Ivanhoe Diploma, which was officially launched at the Honours Assembly. The proxime accessit award went to Lukas Anagnostou who throughout his School life, displayed a keen interest and aptitude for Maths and Science, winning many awards and was involved in Hockey and also a member of the Cadet unit.

During the Assembly the audience were treated to a sneak preview of the upcoming musical ‘Violet’ which fuses gospel, blue grass, Memphis blues and rockabilly music and tells of a bus odyssey taken by a young woman to meet a televangelist in the belief he can heal her scarred face with a miracle.

At Plenty Campus Selby Rogers was announced as the Dux, achieveing an ATAR of 97 and formally presented with a VCE General Excellence Award.

Throughout his time at Ivanhoe Grammar School, Selby has achieved excellent academic results, particularly in Mathematics and Science. In the Senior Years Selby achieved High Distinction in the Australian National Chemistry Quiz, the ICAS Science Competition and the ICAS Mathematics Competition. Selby also complemented his academic pursuits with a variety of co-curricular activities such as cadets, Round Square IDEALS and was also an integral member of the Ivanhoe Rugby team and Basketball team.
