Equestrian Success

The School’s Equestrian Team competed at the Victorian Interschool Equestrian Series show jumping Grand Final at the Werribee National Equestrian Centre from Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 July.

All competitors took part in a series of different show jumping competitions through the year in order to achieve the highest amount of points to win the series and this was to be decided after the Grand Final.

Edward Darby placed 5th and 3rd overall in the Advanced section closely followed by Clancy Grant placing 6th overall. Miranda Darby placed 9th overall for the day in the Intermediate section and Alice Davies had a successful day placing first in one of her classes and placing 9th overall in her class. Ella Barker and Zali Wandervert competed in the Progressive section also having a successful day with their horses and supporting other riders in the team. Overall Ivanhoe Grammar School placed 5th out of all the schools competing for the year with Edward Darby and Miranda Darby being a part of the placing team.

Along with the excitement of the day, the Ivanhoe Equestrian team was given the opportunity by the school to have a memorial jump created to be a part of the interschool series for generations to come.

This jump will be at each of the qualifying events for this year and all years to come for riders to enjoy and Ivanhoe students to cherish.
