Boys Volleyball Team make it to the Grand Final

Congratulations to the Ivanhoe Grammar School Firsts Boys Volleyball Team, with their terrific win against Mentone yesterday taking them through to the Grand Final. In what Head Coach, John McInerney, described as the “best game the boys have played all year” they won in 3 sets: 25-13, 25-15, 20-25 and 25-18. Although this was a great team effort, both Charlie Simonsen and Alex Mirkov were dominant players. The Grand Final will be played at the State Volleyball Centre this Saturday commencing at 8.50am.

Just as impressive were the Boys Cricket Team who defeated top placed team Peninsula Grammar. Needing 7 runs to win off the last over, the boys got them in 5 balls. Jesse King, with 3 wickets and 25 runs, contributed well with both bat and ball. The boys will return to Peninsula this week hoping for a repeat win to help advance then to the Grand Final.

The Boys Tennis Team continued their form, completing their home and away season undefeated. They take on Camberwell on Saturday hoping to reach the Grand Final for the fourth year in succession!

Meanwhile, our Girls Volleyball Team, who have a bye this weekend, will play Haileybury on 18 March. For the girls, this match will be like a Grand Final as the winner will take out the AGSV/APS Premiership.

Good luck to all the teams playing the respective finals this weekend.
