Boys tennis serves up two wins in the opening rounds

The boys tennis team have started the season in good form, defeating last years’ premiers Yarra Valley Grammar, and then accounting for Camberwell last Saturday. Connor Di Marco, Chris Murhi and Lincoln Zhang have had some impressive performances to date.

A strong bowling performance in cricket saw us retain the Alan Graham Trophy. Lachlan Murphy was the early destroyer, and with sustained pressure, Camberwell were certainly under pressure at 958. A last wicket partnership enabled them to get to 101! Despite losing 6 wickets, we were able to pass their score and record our first win of the year.

Like cricket, basketball was keen to get their season back on track after a loss to Yarra Valley Grammar in Week 1. Led by Ned Waters, Lachlan Jepsen and Lukas Kafritsas, the boys maintained their composure to record a 10 point victory.

Whilst badminton started their season with a win (4 rubbers to 2), table tennis and volleyball had to be content with admirable losses in their first matches for the season.

Girls will commence the summer season on Saturday 8 November.
