Music and Drama form part of the vibrant performing arts community at Ivanhoe Grammar School.
Our highly developed Music and Drama programs offer students an extensive and varied range of activities that extend from music performance ensembles, drama and musical productions, music camps and performing arts competitions.
The School has a well deserved reputation for the professional standard of its musical productions and has regularly received music theatre guild awards. Secondary students participate in the annual School musical production while Primary students participate in a biennial one.
In music alone, there is a wide choice of activities on offer which include symphony orchestra, string orchestra, choirs, jazz ensembles, big band, wind band and string quartets. Private music tuition is available to all students and the School’s musicians have the opportunity to participate in tours and music rehearsal camps. Students also have the opportunity to perform at formal and soiree performances which highlight both vocal and instrumental performers.
Music and drama give students an opportunity to challenge, extend and express themselves and provide a wealth of wonderful memories and achievements.
